History: Snowden spent her entire life used for breeding and was then discarded—but she’s been rewriting that story ever since. When she arrived at Wise, she wasn’t eating and clearly needed time to feel safe again. But slowly, one meal at a time, Snowden began to turn a corner.
As she settled in, her care team discovered she needed a little extra TLC. She was treated for an upper respiratory infection and diagnosed with a grade 2 heart murmur that will continue to be monitored. The biggest surprise was a fractured jaw on her right side, along with a missing tooth—likely something she had been living with for quite some time. She was started on pain meds right away and switched to a soft-food-only diet (which she doesn’t seem to mind one bit). In March, Snowden had her biggest glow-up moment yet: she underwent dental extractions to address severe periodontal disease, had an umbilical hernia repaired, and was spayed—all to set her up for a healthier, happier future.
Outcome: Snowden is healing quite well. Her story isn’t finished yet—but it’s clearly heading in the right direction. Now she just needs the final (and best) chapter: a forever home.
Prognosis: 12/10. Bright and improving. Fully expected to transition seamlessly into a life of luxury—with a strict “no stress, just snacks” policy.
