Every dollar raised is used to take care of our rescued animals.

This includes puppy mill transports, medical including surgeries, vaccinations, vet visits, training, supplies, and so much more.

Our entire team is made of volunteers, and every dollar goes directly to our animals.

We have an Amazon Wish List of the items we need for the animals in our care.

We also need items for auctions and fundraisers.

If you're looking to donate time, transport volunteers, fosters, and event volunteers are crucially needed.

Please contact us to donate any items by sending us an email.

We are also a part of Amazon Smile where you can select Wise Animal Rescue as your charity of choice.

For every order submitted through Amazon Smile, WISE will receive .5% of the total order as a monetary donation.

When you foster, you are providing a temporary home for an animal in need.  It is your job to care for the animal and keep them safe until an adopter has applied and been approved.  Adopting is when you welcome a new animal into your home to live permanently afer

WISE is a foster-based rescue organization.  All of our animals are placed in foster homes and not in an animal shelter location.

Once approved to adopt, our Adoption Coordinator will be in touch to schedule an in-person meet and greet.  Your entire family, including any dogs, must be present.

The locations of these meet and greets change as our dogs are in foster homes throughout the Tri-state area and Pennsylvania.

We do hold adoption events and fundraisers where our adoptable dogs are present but we cannot guarantee which dogs will be at the events.  If you are looking to meet a specific dog, please fill out an adoption application so you can be approved and have a meet and greet scheduled.

Our mission is to make a difference in our local communities.  As such, we mainly rescue dogs from shelters in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Connecticut — as well as puppy mills that are set to euthanize their dogs from various parts of the country.

In addition, many of our dogs come in as owner surrenders.  In these cases, the owners no longer want their pet for whatever reason and we step in to make sure that animal has a safe place to go while we find its forever home.

We do our best to save as many dogs as we can and our rescue always stays full — as there are so many animals in need.

If you find a stray animal, please call your local animal control agency.

If you do not have the number for animal control, you can call your local, non-emergency police number.

The animal must be placed on stray hold while they attempt to find its owner.

Wise Animal Rescue understands and respects that sometimes owners are unable to keep their pets.

Before surrendering your pet, please read the information under the "Surrender Process" page on how we can help you keep your pet.

If you feel there are no other options and you must surrender your pet, please fill out a surrender application on our website.

Wise Animal Rescue has great connections to veterinarians, trainers, and pet supplies and are happy to offer access to these resources.
