Rocky aka Oink is thriving in his new home! He’s gaining weight like a champ and is now a portly 6 lbs. He loves squeaky toys, rolling in the grass and finding a warm lap to sleep on. He loves his big sister, Rosie, but hasn’t quite made friends with his feline siblings.
Rocky spends 5 days a week brightening the lives of over 100 nursing home residents. He’s a celebrity in the building and looks forward to walking the halls to visit the staff and sneaking in a quick nap with one of his favorite patients who spends most of her time in bed.
We are very lucky to have Rocky in our lives!

From Penny’s (fka Mariah) mom Michaela: Mariah is now named Penny! She’s doing wonderfully in her new home. Our family is enjoying her energetic silly personality. We love taking her hiking and long walks in the trails behind our house. Penny is getting along with our cats, Charlie and Olivia. She’s a wonderful addition to our home!
From Charley’s mom Linda: Charley has been a great addition to our family. We just love him! He is so smart and affectionate. He has brought us all such joy.
We were in search for a puppy to complete our family. We looked extensively and for a long time on various websites and local shelters for the perfect fit with little luck. Having two small children and two 12 year old cats, we were looking for a young dog that could grow with our children and that wouldn’t immediately intimidate our cats. We came across Wise Animal Rescue on Petfinder and saw their posting for a young boxer pup named Sasha. Their description was very thorough, allowing us to make an initial judgment that Sasha could be a good fit for our family. I reached out and applied, and following a thorough but enjoyable interview with one of their volunteers, Felicia, we moved onto getting to meet Sash in person. Jaime and Sasha’s foster at the time, were kind enough to bring Sasha to our home for the initial meeting where Sasha immediately started playing with our children, licking our 1 year old’s face and making him laugh and crawl to him for more. Upon leaving, our older son cried, asking when she would come back. We knew at that point she was the one. A week later Sasha was dropped off for good in her forever home. In the time since, Sasha (now Roxy) has become very comfortable in our home, listens to commands, continues to be great with the kids and cats, and is quickly learning basic commands. A testament to Wise Animal Rescue and her fosters. I would highly recommend Wise Animal Rescue to anyone looking for a companion and new addition to their homes. Thank you Wise Animal Rescue!
Ruby came to us 2 weeks ago and it’s like she has been with us all along. She is really a great dog. Jaime, her foster mom, was so helpful to get us all ready to have Ruby come into our home. She helped guide us with her eating habits, special treats and what Ruby loves to do for fun! Ruby is our new baby. She showers us with kisses, along with everyone else she comes in contact with! We couldn’t ask for a better addition to our family! Thank you, Wise Animal Rescue!!!!
